Bio
Hello my name is Kara. I'm a psychotherapist, ecotherapist, mindfulness practitioner, clinical supervisor, educator, and Earth Mama! It is my belief - and both modern science and ancient wisdom show - that we need connection, community, and ultimately to be sourced in human and nature attachment, in order to thrive. My work is grounded in humanistic, interpersonal processing, attachment, mindfulness, motivational, strengths-based, and ecotherapeutic frameworks. I appreciate incorporating mindfulness for the mind-body (somatic) connection, philosophical or existential exploration, and creative expression.

I have had the privilege of working with and I welcome people of all backgrounds and intersections, including BIPOC, Latinx, LGBTQ+, neurodiverse, ability diverse, and other communities. I also enjoy working with creatives, change makers, perfectionists, empaths, and Earth lovers.
Services Summary

Healing is not meant to be done alone. Each of us will face loss, anxiety, uncertainty, disruption, disconnection, illness… these are natural to the human condition. In encountering these inherent challenges, we need to be witnessed, held, and heard, as we take the risk to journey through our dark night. If you embark on this journey with me as your companion, we will tap into the wells of knowledge, tools, and wisdom that reside within (and around) us both, as collaborators in your healing. The Earth and I will help you to re-member your innate value and wisdom as a human BEing, and as part of the larger ecosystem to which we all belong.

Blending a warm, person-centered, affirming, and gently challenging approach, I will tailor our sessions to fit your needs. We may engage in mindfulness practices to root you back in the present moment and the mind-body connection, explore attachment relationships as they relate to current patterns, or help to strengthen a reciprocal relationship with nature through in-office and outdoor Earth-honoring practices.

These dialogues and practices have the potential to awaken more vitality, joy, calm, self-worth, dignity, along with a sense of compassion and belonging with self, others, and the larger world.
