Adriel integrates somatic, transpersonal, and trauma-informed practices from her Master's degree in Holistic Counseling Psychology at John F. Kennedy University, and as a certified yoga instructor (RYT200). Adriel is a certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL) through PATH International, and holds great value in the human-animal bond.
A student of Ariana Candell’s since 2011, Adriel also teaches at The Earthbody Institute, finding great meaning in helping others learn how to integrate their love of nature into their work. Adriel spends time outdoors everyday, in the garden, with her loved ones (human and other-than human), and exploring all the natural beauty this Earth has to offer.
I offer holistic psychotherapy, somatic ecotherapy, and equine facilitated psychotherapy. Mindfulness, movement, expressive arts are often integrated during sessions. Sessions are held indoors and outdoors in Santa Cruz County. As an Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning I also offer therapeutic, mindfulness and learning sessions with equine partners. Ariana is founder of The Earthbody Institute, a professional, educational, and transformational forum dedicated to the cultivation of dynamic mutual relationships with the natural world. She is creator of the groundbreaking Professional Ecotherapy Training and Certification Program, now entering its fourth year. She facilitates workshops locally and internationally, including Online Ecotherapy Certificate Programs, Ecotherapy Immersion Programs and consultation groups. She also teaches Ecotherapy seminars as an adjunct professor at John F. Kennedy University.
Ariana believes that developing a consistent nature connection practice with elements of somatic awareness and openness to the sacred can foster a more holistic and balanced way of life. She is devoted to her own daily spiritual practice in nature, and encourages her private clients and students to develop their own practice. In all of her programs, she facilitates creation of a strong Earth-honored community, fulfilling an ancient human need of experiencing a profound connection to the sacredness of all beings.
Ariana is thrilled to be practicing Ecotherapy outdoors in the East Bay hills with more than half of her individual clients, and also brings the power of nature indoors to her private practice in Berkeley. Her main therapeutic influences include Hakomi Mindfulness-Centered Somatic Psychotherapy, Somatic Ecotherapy, Dance Movement Therapy and Earth-based trainings from The School of Lost Borders.

I am currently in the midst of deep spiritual and worldly exploration to uncover and embrace my gifts and sacred purpose, which I feel have been clouded by my steadfast journey towards obtaining licensure over the past several years. I am enjoying connecting with others who are following their unique paths to inspire and guide me in discovering my true purpose so that I may better align my life's work with my soul and values.
I was recently licensed in 2018. I have worked as a mental health therapist with teenagers and young adults for 6 years. I am currently working at Bay Area Clinical Associates which is an outpatient mental health agency with locations in San Jose and Menlo Park. I am the lead therapist of two Intensive Outpatient Programs for teenagers, young adults and their families.
Wildrock's programs emphasize therapeutic play-based learning and ecotherapy practices. Visitors of all ages come for field trips, day retreats, and overnights. Ecotherapy retreats are offered for human service workers. Open community play days are available on Saturdays and select weekdays. Wildrock also runs a urban outreach program connecting children to underutilized green spaces in their own neighborhoods and schools. Stewardship projects engage school communities in reducing plastic waste and planting pollinator gardens.
This gave her the motivation to go back to school to get her Health and Life Coaching certificates through HCI (Health Coach Institute), an accredited school of the International Coach Federation, to go along with her associate degree in Business. She later attended The Earthbody Institute where she received her level one & two certificates in Ecotherapy.

I take nature to people where they are and people to nature with a focus on what science has just begun to scratch the surface in identifying with regards to the depth of our connection to nature which brings to light the harm that the human race is experiencing from that disconnect. The BdP programs are designed to enhance teamwork and leadership through workshops and retreats in educational, residential, community and corporate settings. The 'Honoring Truth of Age Program' (http://jeanndeford.com/index.php/honoring-elderhood/honoring-truth-of-age/) utilizes the BdP method and is designed to inspire today’s elder population to learn and explore what it is to transition from ‘old’ to ‘Elder’ and reimagine by THEIR design what a thriving Elderhood Community looks like. During this collaboration a deep communicative connection with other living systems is revealed and the threshold of over all health, well-being and creative expression is crossed culminating in a BdP's 'Bridging Earthland Ceremony'. BIOdancePhilia is 'Life's-dance-Connecting to Life', it IS a dance between the Body, Soul & Earth that by design embraces an intergenerational perspective intended to deepen the bond that we all share with other living systems..
