Throughout my whole life, my connection with nature has been an important part of my spirituality and self-care. When I began my education as a therapist, I dreamed of bringing people outdoors as a resource for their healing and personal growth. I participated in The Earthbody Institute's Online Ecotherapy Certificate (Level I) program in 2017 to help me prepare for the legal, ethical, and clinical considerations involved in bringing clients outdoors safely. Since then, I have been bringing therapy clients outdoors for sessions in the East Bay Regional Parks.
My husband and I enjoy birding as a hobby, and we get outdoors for hiking or kayaking most weekends. Currently, I run a full-time private practice with offices in San Francisco and at the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center. I am also adjunct faculty in the MFT graduate program at the University of San Francisco.
My approach to psychotherapy is based in mindfulness and acceptance. I use an approach called Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, which promotes flexibility and personal growth through mindful contact with your experience and building a meaningful life through clarifying and acting on your personal values. My goal is to help you get to know yourself better from the inside-out and to build on your inner strengths and resources. In addition to my indoor services in SF and Oakland, I offer ecotherapy sessions at Redwood Regional Park in Oakland on Friday mornings. Please visit my website to learn more, or email me directly to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
In my own life and in my work with clients I have found that the natural world can be a source of solace, joy, and healing, when we allow ourselves to fully engage and connect with it. I also address and integrate issues of social justice and oppression, and explore with clients how they are impacted by both marginalized and privileged identities. I love supporting clients in exploring ways to be more actively engaged in human and the more than human community around them.
I offer individual therapy services at my office, virtually, and in outdoor settings near my office or at local parks in the Seattle area.
My therapeutic approach draws primarily from gestalt therapy, humanistic therapy, Somatic Experiencing, other mindfulness-based approaches, and ecotherapy.
I also have a background in The Work That Reconnects as a community member and facilitator, and periodically offer WTR workshops or group therapy experiences.

Allow Nature to be a co-therapist in your healing and growth journey. By taking our session outdoors, we allow the healing properties of nature to assist in meeting your needs. The elements, plant and animal life enhance the process by offering symbolic meaning and intuitive messages to guide and heal. Meet me at the beach, park or the forest. Let the natural world welcome you and bring you what you need to see, feel or hear. Research is showing the positive benefits of nature in treating depression and anxiety.
Ecotherapy outdoor workshops allow you to meet with other nature lovers to experience the gifts of nature and gain insights and direction. Outdoor group activities are designed to give you an experience that only Nature can create. Practice mindfulness, learn about Native American symbols and see how to deeply connect with nature and yourself . I am inspired to create retreats in nature that inspire people to ‘break away’ from their daily lives and create ‘breakthroughs’ in consciousness as they connect more with their spiritual nature. These four day retreats are usually held in Florida, Tennessee, Colorado or California. I am inspired to lead retreats in sacred places all over the world.
