Bio
Lauren is a lifelong lover of the outdoors. She has led six adventure travel programs for high school students around the world and completed a year long training in outdoor leadership. She has been incorporating adventure based counseling and Ecotherapy into her career since 1993 when she graduated from Boston University School of Social Work where she focused her studies on groupwork. She currently has a private practice in Philadelphia called Expanding Perspectives, Nature Based Therapy and since the Covid-19 pandemic has developed a thriving Ecotherapy practice doing almost all her sessions in the woods of Philadelphia's 2500 acre Wissahickon Park.
Services Summary
Lauren offers training and supervision to licensed and pre-licensed therapists seeking to utilize nature as part of their psychotherapy practices. She offers online and outdoor therapy for individuals, couples and families and has developed an original framework called Relationship Rebalancing designed to strengthen, grow and repair damaged or struggling relationships. Lauren is currently leading the development of The Philadelphia Ecotherapy Collaborative.
